身份的题型要求根据对话内容辨别两个对话者之间的关系。无论是职业题型，还是身份题型，考生都要抓住对有关对话人职业或身份的词语。有时候两人间的对话会涉及到第三者，而最后的问题可能就是第三者的职业或与对话者的关系。因此在听音时也要注意到涉及第三者的'内容。另外，要注意问题中问及的是theman，thewoman，还是第三个人。
这两种题型的问句变化不多，职业题型一般不外乎：

身份题型的问句则通常是:
